1.19

經。復次至高輕他故　三治妬忌文分為四。一順情輕蔑。二身遇極殃。三由昔聞名四咸蒙願遂。此則初也。以妬忌故者。雜集第一云。耽著利養不耐他榮。瞋之一分心妬為體。令心憂慼不安隱住為業。

Sūtra: Furthermore, [Mañjuśrī...] to [...] because of exalting oneself and looking down upon others. Third, curing jealousy. The text is divided into four: first, indulging feelings and disparaging others; second, bodily undergoing extreme calamity; third, due to having heard the name in the past; fourth, all receiving the fulfilment of vows. This is the first. Regarding "because of jealousy": Fascicle One of the Abhidharma-samuccaya-vyākhyā states: "Addicted to gain and offerings, unable to bear the glory of others, its essence is mental jealousy, a part of hatred. Its activity is to cause the mind to be afflicted and to abide unrestfully."
