經。於三惡道至受諸苦毒　二身遇極殃文分為三。一受地獄。二受畜生。三受下賤。此則初也。於三惡道受諸苦毒者。此得異熟果。以嫉妬故當墮地獄中。以自讚毀他故。當墮畜生中。

Sūtra: In the three evil destinies [...] to [...] undergo all kinds of bitter torments. Second, bodily undergoing extreme calamity. The text is divided into three: first, undergoing [rebirth in] hell; second, undergoing [rebirth as] animals; third, undergoing [rebirth as the] base and lowly. This is the first. Regarding "undergo all kinds of bitter torments in the three evil destinies": this is obtaining the vipāka-phala (maturation fruit). Because of jealousy, one shall fall into hell. Because of praising oneself and disparaging others, one shall fall among animals.
