1.76

經。即得至憶知　二緣此魂歸即得還復者。謂有實死雖復修福識不得還。或有因修福故。彼白王使所引之識得還身中二理不定。如從夢覺者。如在夢中明了自見。此亦即是以夢類夢故稱為如。

Sūtra: 'Then [the spirit] will be able... recollects and knows.' Section 2: Thereby the soul returns. 'Then it will be able to return' means that if someone actually dies, even though they cultivate merit, the consciousness cannot return; or there are those who, because of cultivating merit, have the consciousness led by the King's messenger return to the body. The two situations are not fixed. 'Like awakening from a dream': just as in a dream one clearly sees for oneself, here too it uses a dream to draw an analogy to a dream; hence it is called 'like.'
