第一段普現色身所以致問者。夫為室宅之內應有父母眷屬及以資生什物。而今悉無。是故問言。父母妻子悉為是誰。象馬車乘皆何所在也。

In the first section, the reason Universal Manifestation of Physical Forms raises the question is that within a household, there ought to be parents, dependents, and material goods for sustenance, yet now there are none at all. Therefore he asks: 'Who are your parents, wife, and children? Where are your elephants, horses, and carriages?'
