Next, it praises in verse the supernormal transformations previously manifested. 'Having seen the Great Sage through his supernormal transformation' praises in verse the preceding event of uniting the parasols. 'Having' means already; 'through' is equivalent to using. Having previously seen the Buddha using his supernormal powers to unite the parasols into one, it says 'having seen [the Great Sage] through his supernormal transformation'. From 'universally manifesting' downwards, it praises in verse the events manifested previously within the parasol. Previously within the parasol, it manifested throughout the events of both this land and other directions; here it praises in verse throughout the events of other directions, while the events of this land are praised separately below in verse. 'Universally manifesting immeasurable lands in the ten directions' manifests the places of his transformation. 'The Buddhas therein' manifests the masters of those transformations. 'Expounding the Dharma' manifests the aspects of those transformations. 'Whereupon all saw and heard' is because through the Buddha's universal manifestation, all the great assembly within this gathering completely saw the immeasurable Buddha-lands in the ten directions, as well as saw those Buddhas and heard their preaching.
