6.63

前中有三。一約天帝為生物信嘆經殊勝。二如我下明信解者有其深益。三世尊下天帝彰己為重法故受持經者為之作護。前中釋提桓因舉嘆經人。此乃天帝之別名也。於大眾中明嘆經處。白佛言等彰嘆經辭。我雖從佛聞百千經舉劣顯勝未曾聞此不思議等對劣顯勝。以此經中廣明不思議神通。復明實相智慧方便權實了。故稱決定。所以嘆未曾有也。

In the first part, there are three sections: first, referring to the Lord of Devas praising the sūtra's excellence so as to generate faith in living beings; second, from 'As I...' below, explaining that those who faithfully understand have profound benefit; third, from 'Bhagavat...' below, the Lord of Devas manifests that out of veneration for the Dharma, he will provide protection for those who accept and maintain the sūtra. In the first part, Śakra Devānām Indra mentions the person who praises the sūtra; this is another name for the Lord of Devas. 'In the great assembly' indicates the place of praising the sūtra. 'Said to the Buddha,' and so forth, indicates the words of praising the sūtra. 'Although I have heard hundreds of thousands of sūtras from the Buddha' cites the inferior to display the superior; 'I have never heard this inconceivable...' contrasts with the inferior to reveal the superior. Because this sūtra extensively clarifies acintya supernatural powers and further clarifies the dharmatā of wisdom and upāya, the provisional and the real in their fullness, it is called definitive; therefore, it is praised as unprecedented.
