6.82

如是持者總結勸也。大眾歡喜奉行者。此眾皆是上來四會諸聞法者。既蒙善利佩荷實深。自行勸人奉行斯法。以其能說法人所說之法及聞法者三皆淨故。隨機淺深悉得道果勝益內資故咸喜也。

"Uphold it like this" is the general conclusion and exhortation. As for "the great assembly rejoiced and put it into practice," this assembly comprises all those from the preceding four assemblies who heard the Dharma. Having received wholesome benefit and being truly deeply indebted, they personally practiced and exhorted others to put this Dharma into practice. Because the person able to explain the Dharma, the Dharma explained, and those who heard the Dharma are all three pure, they all attained the fruit of the Way according to the shallowness or depth of their capacity; since superior benefit inwardly enriched them, they all rejoiced.
