彌勒菩薩 什曰。姓也。此曰慈氏。阿逸多字也。此云無勝。南天竺婆羅門子也。
"Maitreya Bodhisattva." Kumārajīva says: "This is his family name, which here is translated as 'the Benevolent One' (Cishi). Ajita is his personal name, which here means 'Unconquered'. He was the son of a brāhmaṇa in southern India."
