唯願世尊。說諸菩薩淨土之行　此二問因。肇曰。土之所以淨。豈校飾之所能淨之。必由行故請說行。凡行必在學地故。菩薩此問乃是如來現蓋之微旨寶積得詣之本意也。

"We only pray that the World-Honoured One will explain the practices of the pure land for the bodhisattvas." This is the second [part], asking about the cause. Sengzhao says: "As for that whereby a land is purified, how could mere decoration purify it? It must be due to practice; hence he asks for practice to be explained. Generally, practice must occur in the stage of learning. Therefore, this question by the bodhisattva is precisely the subtle purport of the Tathāgata's manifestation of the canopies, and the original intention behind Ratnarāśi's coming."
