方便是菩薩淨土。菩薩成佛時於一切法方便無閡眾生來生其國　肇曰。方便巧惠也。積小德而獲大功。功雖就而不為證。無為而無所不為。此方便無閡也。復此菩薩自行善巧不退善根。化他善巧能進物善。故云無礙方便也。

"Expedient means are the bodhisattva's pure land; when the bodhisattva attains buddhahood, sentient beings who have unhindered expedient means regarding all dharmas come to be born in his land." Sengzhao says: "Expedient means are skillful wisdom. Accumulating small virtues, one obtains great results; though results are accomplished, one does not make a realization of them; doing nothing, yet leaving nothing undone—this is unhindered expedient means. Furthermore, the bodhisattva's own practice is skillful and does not regress in wholesome roots, and his transformation of others is skillful, able to advance beings in goodness; hence it is called unhindered expedient means."
