舍利弗眾生罪故不見如來佛國嚴淨。非如來咎。舍利弗我此土淨而汝不見　此下四明解釋。肇曰。日月豈不明。不見自由瞽。佛土豈不淨。罪穢故不覩。豈唯凡夫不覩。身子二乘智眼亦不見。

"Śāriputra, because of sentient beings' sins, they do not see the majestic purity of the Tathāgata's Buddha-realm; it is not the Tathāgata's blame. Śāriputra, this land of mine is pure, but you do not see it." Below, the fourth part explains this. Sengzhao says: "How could the sun and moon not be bright? That they are not seen is solely due to blindness. How could the Buddha-land not be pure? Because of sins and defilements, they do not perceive it. How could it be that ordinary beings alone do not see it? Even the wisdom-eye of the two vehicles, like Śāriputra, does not see it."
