[Seng]zhao says: How could the sun and moon not be bright? Not seeing them comes solely from blind eyes. How could the buddha-land not be pure? It is due to sinful defilement that they do not perceive it. / [Dao]sheng says: The light of the sun and moon displays all forms, yet a blind person does not see them; how could that be the fault of the sun and moon? The Buddha is also like this. When he formerly engaged in practices to transform sentient beings, there was none that did not lead to a land without sand and stone. Yet because sentient beings have sins, they obtain this defilement. It is simply that they do not see it; it is not the Buddha's blame.
