雖為白衣奉持沙門清淨律行　此下身密方便。雖現白衣之儀而不乖法身之本。法身寂滅即佛所持大沙門律行也　肇曰。秦言義訓勤行。勤行趣涅槃也。亦曰。休息。息生死往來也。

"Though wearing white robes, he observed the pure monastic discipline of a śramaṇa." From here on is the upāya of the physical secret. Though manifesting the appearance of white robes, he did not deviate from the origin of the dharmakāya; the quiescence of the dharmakāya is precisely the monastic discipline of a great śramaṇa observed by the Buddha. Sengzhao says: "In the language of Qin, the meaning is glossed as 'diligent practice'; diligent practice advances toward nirvāṇa. It is also said to mean 'resting'; resting puts an end to the comings and goings of saṃsāra."
