若在長者長者中尊為說勝法　此下三明口密益物。肇曰。凡人易以威順。難以理從。大士每處其尊以弘風靡之化。長者豪族望重多以世教自居不求出。世勝法永處輪迴。

"When among elders, he was the most honored among elders, preaching the superior Dharma for them." From here down, the third section explains benefiting beings through the verbal secret. Sengzhao says: "Common people are easily brought to compliance by majesty, but difficult to lead through principle. The mahāsattva always occupied the position of honor to broaden the transformative power of his sweeping influence." Elders are of prominent clans and heavy reputation; mostly dwelling in worldly teachings, they do not seek the transcendent, superior Dharma, and remain forever in saṃsāra.
