從布施持戒忍辱柔和勤行精進禪定解脫三昧多聞智慧諸波羅蜜生　肇曰。禪四禪。定四空定。解脫八解脫。三昧三三昧。此皆禪度之別行。

"It is born from the perfections of giving, observing precepts, patience and gentleness, diligent striving, meditative concentration, liberation, samādhi, much learning, and wisdom." Sengzhao states: "Meditation refers to the four dhyānas; concentration refers to the four formless concentrations; liberation refers to the eight liberations; samādhi refers to the three samādhis. All these are distinct practices of the perfection of meditation."
