世尊大慈寧不垂愍　此念問。肇曰。世尊大慈必見垂問因。以弘道所濟良多。此現疾之本意也。

"'Will the World-Honoured One of great compassion not deign to have pity?'" This is his reflection on being inquired after. [Seng]zhao said: "The World-Honoured One of great compassion will surely deign to inquire, and using that opportunity to propagate the Way, those who are delivered will be many indeed. This was his original intention in manifesting illness."
