"'neither seeing the Four Truths nor not seeing the truths; neither attaining the fruit nor not attaining the fruit; neither an ordinary person nor separated from the dharmas of an ordinary person; neither a noble one nor not a noble one;" Below, the second inquires with respect to ordinary beings and sages. Ordinary beings do not see the Four Truths, while those of the first fruit see the truths. The Great Being has neither seeing nor non-seeing; he sees the truth of the ultimate meaning. The two vehicles have realization and attainment, hence they attain the fruit; the Great Being has nothing to attain, hence he does not attain the fruit. This means that ordinary beings and sages are of a single suchness; how could there be any differentiation?
