"'and those who make offerings to you fall into the three evil destinies;" Sengzhao says: The harm of the five heinous sins and the benefit of making offerings are precisely equal in the great view; one does not perceive any difference between them. If one can fall through the five heinous sins, one can also fall through making offerings. "holding hands together with the maras to be companions in all toils; you and the maras, along with all the dusts of toil, being equal and without difference;" Below, the third clarifies that sin is not of a harmful nature. The king of maras entices people into birth-and-death; the Dharma king converts people to abide in nirvāṇa. If the natures of birth-and-death and nirvāṇa are equal, the conversions of mara and Buddha share the same hand. Since it says they are identical and equal without difference, Sengzhao says: Being already their companions, how could there be any difference? He also says: By having no difference, one is able to accomplish the difference.
