"They were beyond measure, having already surpassed measure." This is the second [part], concluding with praise. Now, wisdom arises relying on principle, and virtue merges with wisdom in principle; when principle and wisdom are boundless, how could virtue be measured? Sengzhao says: "Having already attained the dharmakāya and entered the realm of the unconditioned, their minds cannot be sought through discursive intellect, nor can their forms be grasped through images. Therefore it is said: 'without measure.' From the sixth stage downward is called having measure."
