世尊。我時默然　二受屈也。肇曰。欲言作相則同外道。欲言無作則違前見意故不知所答。

"World-Honoured One, at that time I was silent." The second is submitting to defeat. Sengzhao says: "If he wished to say it was conditioned, it would be identical to tīrthikas; if he wished to say it was unconditioned, it would contradict his previously stated vision. Therefore, he did not know how to reply."
