"It is free from the sixty-two views and abides in nirvāṇa." / Sengzhao says: Since there is neither 'that' nor 'this,' one is free from the manifold wrong views and is identical to nirvāṇa. Regarding the sixty-two views, the Pañcaviṃśatisāhasrikā states: Tīrthikas, relying on the past, posit four views regarding the soul and the world as eternal, non-eternal, etc.; relying on the future, they posit four views regarding the soul and the world as bounded, unbounded, etc.; relying on nirvāṇa, they posit four views regarding the Tathāgata as existing, not existing, etc. Applying these twelve views across the five aggregates yields sixty views. Furthermore, positing the body and the soul as identical is the view of annihilationism, while positing the body and the soul as different is the view of eternalism, making sixty-two views.
