諸長者子言。居士我聞。佛言。父母不聽不得出家。二不悟勸意辭有礙也。肇曰。非不欲出家。不敢違親耳。

"The sons of the elders said: 'Householder, we have heard the Buddha say: If parents do not give permission, one cannot leave household life.'" / Second, not understanding the intent of the encouragement, they declined due to an obstacle. Sengzhao says: It is not that they did not wish to leave household life, but merely that they dared not disobey their parents.
