所言未訖時。維摩詰來謂我言。非帝釋也。是為魔來嬈固汝耳　此三廣引彈事文中有八。一覺悟。二乞女。三欲隱。四勸捨。五魔捨。六說法。七誘女。八還女。此初淨名覺悟。肇曰。以持世不覺故發其狀也。

"Before my words were finished, Vimalakīrti came and said to me: 'This is not Śakra. It is Māra who has come to trouble and harass you.'" This third section broadly cites the reprimand, which contains eight points: first, awakening; second, requesting the maidens; third, wishing to disappear; fourth, exhorting him to give them up; fifth, Māra giving them up; sixth, expounding the Dharma; seventh, guiding the maidens; eighth, returning the maidens. This first point is Jingming awakening him. Sengzhao states: Because Dharaṇīṃdhara did not realize it, he exposed Māra's true form.
