即語魔言。是諸女等可以與我。如我應受　此二淨名索女。肇曰。將化諸女故現從其索我為白衣應受此女。曷為以與沙門釋子乎。

"He then said to Māra: 'You may give these maidens to me; someone like me may accept them.'" This second point is Jingming asking for the maidens. Sengzhao states: Intending to transform the maidens, he outwardly asked for them from him, [saying], 'I am a white-robed layperson and can accept these women; why would you give them to a śramaṇa and son of Śākya?'
