當為法施之會。何用是財施會為　肇曰。夫形必有所礙。財必有所窮。故會人以形者不可普集。施人以財不可周給。且施既不普財不益神未。若會群生於十方而即之本土。懷法施於胸中而惠無不普。以此而會會無不均。以此而施不遺人。曷為置殊方而集近賓捨心益而獨潤身乎。

"'You should hold a gathering for the gift of the Dharma; what use is this gathering for the gift of material wealth?'" Zhao says: "Forms must have obstruction, and material wealth must have an end. Therefore, when gathering people by physical form, they cannot be assembled universally; when bestowing on people material wealth, it cannot be provided completely. Moreover, since the gift is not universal, material wealth does not benefit the spirit. It is not like gathering sentient beings in the ten directions and reaching them in their native lands, harboring the gift of the Dharma within one's breast so that beneficence is everywhere universal! Gathering by this means, no gathering is not equal; giving by this means, no person is left out. Why set aside distant realms to gather nearby guests, and abandon benefit to the mind merely to enrich the physical body?"
