或現離婬欲。為五通仙人。開導諸群生。令住戒忍慈　什曰。世無賢聖。眾生下劣不入深法。故化以戒忍。

"Or he manifests detachment from sexual desire / As a ṛṣi with the five superknowledges, / Instructing and guiding all beings, / Causing them to abide in morality, patience, and compassion." / [Kumāra]jīva says: "When the world lacks sages and beings are base and inferior, unable to enter the profound Dharma, he therefore transforms them through morality and patience."
