或為邑中主。或作商人導國師及大臣。以祐利眾生。諸有貧窮者現作無盡藏。因以勸導之。令發菩提心。我心憍慢者。為現大力士。消伏諸貢高。令住佛上道。其有恐懼眾居前而慰安。先施以無畏。後令發道心　肇曰。慢心自高如山峯不停水。菩薩現為力士服其高心。然後潤以法水。

"Or he becomes the master of a town, / Or acts as a merchant guide, / A royal preceptor, or a great minister, / To assist and benefit sentient beings. / For those who are poor, / He manifests inexhaustible treasuries, / And thereby encourages and guides them, / Causing them to generate the bodhicitta. / For those whose minds are arrogant, / He manifests as a great wrestler, / Subduing and overcoming all their haughtiness, / Causing them to abide in the Buddha's supreme path. / Those who have fright and dread, / He stands before them and comforts them: / First bestowing fearlessness upon them, / He later causes them to generate the aspiration for the path." / Zhao says: "An arrogant mind exalts itself like a mountain peak that cannot retain water. The bodhisattva manifests as a wrestler to subdue their haughty mind, and thereafter moistens them with the Dharma-water."
