The Bodhisattva Manomati said, "The eye and form constitute duality. If one knows the nature of the eye, one does not crave, resent, or be deluded with respect to form; this is called tranquility. Likewise, the ear and sound, the nose and smell, the tongue and taste, the body and touch, and the mind and dharmas constitute duality. If one knows the nature of the mind, one does not crave, resent, or be deluded with respect to dharmas; this is called tranquility. To abide peacefully within this is entering the dharma gate of non-duality."
Sengzhao says, "Functioning in sense faculties and dust (sense objects), the three poisons arise. If one realizes the nature of the six sense faculties, poisons do not arise; this is the path of tranquility."
