願得世尊所食之餘。當於娑婆世界施作佛事。令此樂小法者得弘大道。亦使如來名聲普聞　四陳請飯。肇曰餘卑遜言也。彼土因香以通大道。此國眾生者志意狹劣故請香飯之餘以弘佛事。

“‘May I obtain the leftovers of what the World-Honoured One has eaten, to bestow and perform Buddha-activity in the Sahā world, so that those here who delight in lesser dharmas may magnify the Great Way, and also that the Tathāgata's renown may be heard everywhere.’”
[Part] four: presenting the request for food. Zhao says: “‘Leftovers’ is humble speech. In that land, they use fragrance to penetrate the Great Way. In this country, sentient beings’ intentions are narrow and inferior; hence he requested the leftovers of the fragrant food to magnify Buddha-activity.”
