阿難白佛言。世尊。以何因緣有此瑞應。是處忽然廣博嚴事。一切眾會皆作金色　二問緣。身子迦葉隨文殊以作化。阿難侍者留菴羅以啟導故因瑞而發端也。

Ānanda said to the Buddha: "World-Honoured One, by what causes and conditions is there this auspicious response, so that this place has suddenly become vast, spacious, and adorned, and the entire assembly has turned golden?" / Second, asking the reason. Śāriputra and Kāśyapa followed Mañjuśrī in carrying out transformation. Ānanda the attendant remained at the Āmrapālī [Grove] to guide [the assembly], hence he initiated [the inquiry] on account of the omen.
