爾時眾香世界菩薩來者。合掌白佛言。世尊。我等初見此土生下劣想。今自悔責捨離是心。所以者何。諸佛方便不可思議。為廣眾生故。隨其所應現佛國異　此四大士悔責。文有悔有釋。肇曰。初見土穢生下劣想。謂諸菩薩亦有昇降。聞上佛事乃自悔責。

At that time, the bodhisattvas who had come from the Sarvagandhasugandhā world joined their palms and addressed the Buddha, saying: "World-Honoured One, when we first saw this land we gave rise to thoughts of inferiority. Now we reproach ourselves and cast off this mindset. Why is this? The upāya of the Buddhas are inconceivable; for the sake of broadening sentient beings, they manifest different Buddha-lands according to what is appropriate." This fourth part is the mahāsattvas reproaching themselves. The text contains reproach and explanation. Sengzhao says: "Initially seeing the land to be defiled, they gave rise to thoughts of inferiority, thinking that the bodhisattvas also had superior and inferior grades. Hearing above of the Buddha's work, they now reproach themselves."
