所以者何。未來世中當有善男子善女人。及天龍鬼神乾闥婆羅剎等。發阿耨多羅三藐三菩提心樂于大法。若使不聞如是等經則失善利。如此輩人聞是等經。必多信樂發希有心當以頂受隨諸眾生所應得利而為廣說　二釋付以所。緣不感佛教在當來。不聞則失。聞之必益。故頂受廣說。肇曰。法之通塞損益若此故勸彌勒頂受廣說也。

"Why is this? In future eras, there will be good men and good women, as well as devas, nāgas, ghosts, spirits, gandharvas, rākṣasas, and others, who arouse the resolve for anuttarā-samyak-saṃbodhi and delight in the Great Dharma. If they are not caused to hear sūtras such as this, they will lose these good benefits. When people of this kind hear these sūtras, they will surely have much faith and joy, arouse a rare mind, receive them upon their heads, and widely expound them in accordance with the benefits that the various sentient beings should attain." / Second, explaining the reason for the entrustment. Because conditions do not align, the Buddha's teaching lies in the future; if they do not hear it, they lose it, and if they hear it, they surely benefit. Therefore, one receives it upon the head and widely expounds it. Sengzhao says: "The obstruction and opening, loss and benefit of the Dharma are like this; therefore, he exhorts Maitreya to receive it upon his head and widely expound it."
