是時佛告阿難。受持是經廣宣流布。阿難言唯。我已受持要者。世尊。當何名斯經。佛言。阿難。是經名維摩詰所說。亦名不可思議解脫法門。如是受持　下二付囑阿難付受問答。若令結集之時無所遺漏。

At that time, the Buddha told Ānanda: "Receive and uphold this sūtra, and widely proclaim and circulate it." Ānanda said: "Yes, I have already received and upheld its essentials. World-Honoured One, what should this sūtra be named?" The Buddha said: "Ānanda, this sūtra is named 'Expounded by Vimalakīrti', and it is also named 'Dharma Gate of Inconceivable Liberation'. Receive and uphold it thus." / Below is the second part, the entrustment to Ānanda, with questions and answers on entrusting and receiving, ensuring that nothing is omitted at the time of the compilation [of the scriptures].
