The Bodhisattva Vidyuddeva said, "Illumination and ignorance constitute duality. The true nature of ignorance is itself illumination. Illumination also cannot be grasped, being free from all reckonings. To be equal and non-dual within this is entering the dharma gate of non-duality."
Sengzhao says, "Illumination is the clarity of wisdom; ignorance is the darkness of delusion. Seeing the nature of ignorance is itself illumination. If one sees illumination as illumination, then illumination and ignorance are mutually dependent, and thus it cannot be grasped."
