經曰佛言等者　述曰。蒙讚也。如來既降迹投機惠雲乘布。但使來人有苦即法澤彌流。以彼同得宜故云大善　然佛猶未說類即申疑故。云我正欲說汝今復問。

[When] the sūtra states, 'The Buddha said,' and so forth: The commentary says: This is receiving praise. Since the Tathāgata descended in his traces to match people's capacities, the clouds of wisdom spread far and wide; so long as future people have suffering, the moisture of the Dharma will overflow. Because they all attain what is suitable, he says, 'Excellent indeed!' However, before the Buddha had spoken, [Maudgalyāyana] set forth his inquiry corresponding [to the matter]; hence [the Buddha] says, 'I was just about to speak, and now you ask again.'
