1.39

經曰若一切佛弟子奉持是經法者　述曰。第四教奉持也。奉者信也持者念也。言信即遣撥正邪。言念則深妄教之失。所以勗其信念史教流通矣。

[When] the sūtra states, 'If all disciples of the Buddha uphold this sūtra and Dharma': The commentary says: The fourth teaches upholding. 'To uphold' is to have faith; 'to keep' is to be mindful. When faith is spoken of, it removes the distinction between right and wrong; when mindfulness is spoken of, it deeply prevents the error of forgetting the teaching. Therefore, he exhorts them to faithful mindfulness so that the teaching may circulate.
