識罪發露法（通義五篇）佛言。當至一清淨比丘所具修威儀。說所犯罪名（應作白言）大德一心念。我比丘某甲。犯某罪。今向大德發露。後當如法懺悔（三說）。

Method of āvīkaraṇa upon recognizing an offense (the meaning applies generally to the five categories of offenses): The Buddha said that one should go to the presence of a single pure bhikṣu, fully adopt monastic deportment, and state the name of the offense committed. (One should make the statement:) "Bhadanta, preserve single-minded mindfulness. I, the bhikṣu named so-and-so, have committed such-and-such an offense. Now before the Bhadanta I reveal it; later I will deśanā it in accordance with the Dharma." (Spoken three times.)
