Second, explaining the distinctions of volitional formations (saṃskāra) has three parts: 1. explaining bodily formations (kāya-saṃskāra), which has four parts: (1) question, (2) brief answer, (3) explaining the locus, (4) distinguishing actions, which has two parts: a. lower, b. higher; 2. explaining verbal formations (vāk-saṃskāra), which has three parts: (1) question, (2) brief answer, (3) explanation; 3. explaining mental formations (manaḥ-saṃskāra), which has three parts: (1) question, (2) brief answer, (3) distinguishing actions, which has two parts: a. lower, b. higher.
