The second, detailed explanation of establishment, has eight parts: / 1. Establishing the meaning of samāhita has two parts: (1) brief, which has two parts: [a] question; [b] answer, which has two parts: (i) answering with the correct meaning; (ii) answering objections; (2) detailed, which has two parts: [a] general statement and general explanation, having four parts: (i) stating 'born of detachment'; (ii) explaining the benefits of being born of detachment; (iii) listing the five factors of the desire realm; (iv) listing the five factors of fulfillment; [b] individual explanations, having two parts: (i) explaining the five factors of the desire realm, having five parts as in the treatise; (ii) explaining the five factors of fulfillment, having five parts as in the treatise; / 2. Establishing the hindrances to the dhyāna attainments has four parts: (1) statement; (2) question; (3) listing names; (4) explanation, having two parts: [a] distinguishing the essence, having five parts as should be known from the treatise; [b] explaining the nutriment for the five hindrances, having five parts as in the treatise.
