第五復次明四檢行分二。一略標經句。二解釋經文分二。一略釋分二。一問。二答。二廣解分二。一總問。二總答分四。二明順退分分二。一明退順相。二明檢行相順。下三同前。二明住分。三明勝進分。四明順決擇分。

The fifth "furthermore" explains the four examinations of practice, divided into two parts: 1. Briefly indicating the sūtra phrase; 2. Explaining the text of the sūtra, divided into two: (1) Brief explanation, divided into two: a. Question, b. Answer; (2) Detailed exposition, divided into two: a. General question, b. General answer, divided into four: [a] Explaining that which accords with regression, divided into two: i. Explaining the marks according with regression, ii. Explaining the examination of practice that accords [with them]—the three below are the same as the preceding; [b] Explaining that which belongs to maintenance; [c] Explaining that which belongs to superior progression; [d] Explaining that which accords with penetration.
