八中第四明壽建立者分二　一明壽量分十。一明人壽量分四。四州差別故。二明欲天壽量分六。六天差別故。三明八熱地獄壽量分八。一等活。二黑繩。三眾合。四號叫。五大號叫。六燒熱。七極燒熱。八無間。四非天壽量。五明傍生壽量。六明鬼趣壽量。七明八寒地獄壽量。八明近及獨一壽量。九明色天壽量分四。四禪差別故。十明無色天壽量分四。四定差別故　第二明差別分二。一明中夭。二明有屍無屍。

The fourth among the eight, explaining the establishment of lifespan, has two parts: (1) explaining the measure of lifespan, which has ten: 1. explaining the measure of human lifespan, which has four, because of the distinctions among the four continents; 2. explaining the measure of the lifespan of desire heavens, which has six, because of the distinctions among the six heavens; 3. explaining the measure of the lifespan of the eight hot hells, which has eight: Saṃjīva, Kālasūtra, Saṃghāta, Raurava, Mahāraurava, Tapana, Pratāpana, and Avīci; 4. the lifespan of asuras; 5. explaining the lifespan of animals; 6. explaining the lifespan of the hungry ghost destiny; 7. explaining the lifespan of the eight cold hells; 8. explaining the lifespan of the neighboring and solitary hells; 9. explaining the lifespan of form heavens, which has four, because of the distinctions among the four dhyānas; 10. explaining the lifespan of formless heavens, which has four, because of the distinctions among the four samāpattis; (2) explaining distinctions, which has two: 1. explaining premature death, 2. explaining having a corpse and lacking a corpse.
