十八中大門第十八明正修行者精勤發趣空無有果答第十八問分五。一總標。二徵問。三列名。四解釋分二。一明空無果因分三。一明諸根未積集因。二明教授不隨順因。三明等持劣因。二明得果因　五明總結分二。一結無果。二結有果。

The eighteenth main section of the eighteen, which explains that the practitioner's diligent striving is [sometimes] void and without fruit, answering the eighteenth question, has five parts: 1. general presentation, 2. probing question, 3. enumeration of terms, 4. explanation, which has two parts: [1] explaining the causes for being void and without fruit, which has three parts: (1) explaining the cause of the faculties not being accumulated, (2) explaining the cause of instructions not being conformed to, (3) explaining the cause of inferior samādhi; [2] explaining the causes for attaining the fruit; 5. general conclusion, which has two parts: [1] concluding on being without fruit, [2] concluding on having fruit.
