Within the extensive explanation divided into three, the third is explaining the sequence of entering the four aids to penetration (nirvedhabhāgīya), having four [sections]: 1. explaining the sequence of entering the stage of heat (ūṣmagata), having three [parts]: (1) establishing the cause, (2) showing the effect, (3) conclusion; 2. explaining the sequence of entering the stage of summit (mūrdhan), having three [parts]: (1) establishing the cause, (2) showing the effect, (3) conclusion; 3. explaining the sequence of entering the stage of acceptance (kṣānti), having three [parts]: (1) establishing the cause, (2) showing the effect, (3) conclusion; 4. explaining the sequence of entering the stage of supreme worldly dharmas (laukikāgradharma), having two [parts]: (1) explaining the meaning of essence, having two [subsections]: a. general statement, having two [points]: (a) establishing the cause, (b) showing the effect; b. specific explanations, having seven [points]: (a) explaining the meaning of non-cessation, (b) explaining the meaning of not lacking cognitive objects, (c) explaining the meaning of non-remoteness, (d) explaining the meaning of not being sound sleep, (e) explaining the meaning that ignorance resembles sleep, (f) explaining the meaning of non-similarity, (g) explaining the correct meaning; (2) second, explaining the designation, having three [subsections]: a. establishing the cause, b. showing the effect, c. conclusion.
