1. Explaining the characteristics of patience by self-nature, which has three parts: (1) general question; (2) separate explanation, which has four parts: i. explaining patience by self-nature based on distinctions of basis, with two parts: a. establishing the cause, b. showing the fruit; ii. explaining patience by self-nature based on distinctions of occasion, with two parts: a. establishing the cause, b. showing the fruit; iii. explaining patience by self-nature based on distinctions of intentional object (ālambana); iv. explaining patience by self-nature based on distinctions of cause, with two parts: a. establishing the cause (with two parts as in the treatise), b. showing the fruit; (3) general conclusion.
