1. Explaining giving according to its intrinsic nature (svabhāva-dāna), which has three parts: (1) general inquiry; (2) extensive reply, which has five parts: [i] explaining the intrinsic nature of giving according to intrinsic nature, [ii] explaining the intrinsic nature of giving according to material things given, [iii] explaining the intrinsic nature of giving according to the two gateways of body and speech, [iv] explaining the intrinsic nature of giving according to intentional thought, [v] explaining the intrinsic nature of giving according to the recipient; (3) general conclusion.
