Within the seven divisions of the second [part], the detailed explanation, the fourth, explaining the five kinds of benefit, is divided into three: 1. general statement; 2. inquiry; 3. detailed explanation, divided [into five]: 1. explaining the characteristics of benefit based on explaining and imparting right livelihood, divided into two: (1) establishing the cause, (2) displaying the result; 2. explaining the characteristics of benefit based on being able to bring about meaningful benefit, divided into two: (1) establishing the cause, (2) displaying the result; 3. explaining the characteristics of benefit based on serving as a refuge and so forth, divided into two: (1) establishing the cause, (2) displaying the result; 4. explaining the characteristics of benefit based on explaining the path to good destinies, divided into two: (1) establishing the cause, (2) displaying the result; 5. explaining the characteristics of benefit based on explaining and imparting the three vehicles, divided into two: (1) establishing the cause, (2) displaying the result.
