The third of the seven parts of the second, the detailed exposition: explaining the five kinds of equanimous mind toward all sentient beings, which is divided into four: 1. general presentation; 2. analytical inquiry; 3. detailed explanation, divided into five: 1. explaining equanimity of mind with reliance on vowing for great bodhi, divided into two: (1) establishing the cause, (2) revealing the fruit; 2. explaining equanimity of mind with reliance on being accompanied by compassion, divided into two: (1) establishing the cause, (2) revealing the fruit; 3. explaining equanimity of mind with reliance on being accompanied by love as for an only child, divided into two: (1) establishing the cause, (2) revealing the fruit; 4. explaining equanimity of mind with reliance on comprehending the equality of the dharmatā of all sentient beings, divided into two: (1) establishing the cause, (2) revealing the fruit; 5. explaining equanimity of mind with reliance on equanimous conduct that brings benefit, divided into two: (1) establishing the cause, (2) revealing the fruit; 4. general conclusion.
