Within the nine parts explaining affectionate speech in detail, the eighth, explaining affectionate speech for happiness in this world and the next world, is divided into three: 1. general question; 2. brief answer; 3. separate explanations, which are divided into nine: 1) establishing affectionate speech for happiness in the two worlds based on removing the suffering of [losing] relatives, divided into two: (1) establishing the cause, (2) revealing the fruit; 2) establishing affectionate speech for happiness in the two worlds based on removing the suffering of losing wealth and status, divided into two: (1) establishing the cause, (2) revealing the fruit; 3) establishing affectionate speech for happiness in the two worlds based on removing the suffering of illness, divided into two: (1) establishing the cause, (2) revealing the fruit; 4) establishing affectionate speech for happiness in the two worlds based on removing the suffering of lacking pure morality, divided into two: (1) establishing the cause, (2) revealing the fruit; 5) establishing affectionate speech for happiness in the two worlds based on removing the suffering of lacking right view, divided into two: (1) establishing the cause, (2) revealing the fruit; 6) establishing affectionate speech for happiness in the two worlds based on praising the virtue of pure morality, divided into two: (1) establishing the cause, (2) revealing the fruit; 7) establishing affectionate speech for happiness in the two worlds based on praising the virtue of right view, divided into two: (1) establishing the cause, (2) revealing the fruit; 8) establishing affectionate speech for happiness in the two worlds based on praising perfection of deportment, divided into two: (1) establishing the cause, (2) revealing the fruit; 9) establishing affectionate speech for happiness in the two worlds based on praising perfection of right livelihood, divided into two: (1) establishing the cause, (2) revealing the fruit.
