Within the nine parts explaining affectionate speech in detail, the seventh, explaining affectionate speech that accords with what is sought, is divided into four: 1. general question; 2. brief answer; 3. explaining the essential meaning, which is divided into three: (1) establishing the cause, (2) revealing the fruit, (3) conclusion; 4. separate explanations, which are divided into two: 1) explaining the four purities of speech, divided into two: (1) presentation, (2) explanation, divided into four as in the treatise; 2) explaining the eight noble utterances, divided into two: (1) presentation, (2) explanation, divided into eight as in the treatise.
