分十二中第五明四苦八苦互相攝善巧相分二。一列經文分二。一標。二釋。二釋經意分三。一總問。二廣答分四。一答生苦行相攝初生苦義。二答老等三行攝第二緣內苦義。三答求不得等三行攝第三緣外苦義。四答五取蘊行攝第四麁重苦苦義。三明前緣差別意趣分二。一明前說意。二明後說意。

Within the division into twelve, the fifth [part], clarifying the characteristics of skill in the four sufferings and eight sufferings mutually subsuming one another, is divided into two: first, enumerating the sutra text, divided into two: 1. presentation; 2. explanation; second, explaining the sutra's intent, divided into three: 1. general inquiry; 2. broad answer, divided into four: (1) answering that the aspect of the suffering of birth subsumes the initial suffering of birth; (2) answering that the three aspects of aging, etc., subsume the second, suffering conditioned by the internal; (3) answering that the three aspects of not getting what one seeks, etc., subsume the third, suffering conditioned by the external; (4) answering that the aspect of the five appropriated aggregates subsumes the fourth, the suffering of conditioning which is crude and heavy; 3. clarifying the intent of the distinction of the preceding conditions, divided into two: (1) clarifying the intent of the earlier statement; (2) clarifying the intent of the later statement.
